It's like we don't have to blame all of these to them. I mean, it's partially their mistake for having this so-called poor negotiation skills with the hostage taker.
Some people around the World Wide Web were ranting all the same. Yes, while watching the news, I simultaneously roamed around the cyberspace to catch up with the hottest news and you know, just so before I can react to what's happening, I need details first.
Some netizens say, Rolando Mendoza is an evil for bringing this negative image to Philippines because what he did is bringing our tourism really down. Alright, it's logical to say, it's correct. His 10-hour hostage drama scared foreigners (even us) which made the China announce to pull off its people here in the Philippines. They must get out of this trouble country ASAP. I don't even know if it's seriously stated. But China's gonna kill us.
I was about to eat my dinner for a while when I saw myself really stucked in the boob tube for watching the live news. It's not even for a while, it took me the whole news coverage. I did not eat my dinner for feeling disheartened. Come on, who wouldn't be traumatized watching it. What more if it happened to me. It's heartbreaking, indeed.
BLAMES were nailed to these epic failed policemen and SWAT. Oh yes SIR, WILLING AKO TUMAKBO, I would say. Kulang sa training daw, as some people would add. Fine. If that's the case, next time, please think if you are a soldier, can you run to the battlefield without your weapons? In short, wag susugod kung alam na magkukumpol kumpol din naman sa isang corner sa gilid ng bus. Just observed it, by the way.
But if you were in their shoes, wouldn't you think they're just merely doing their jobs? It's hard to rescue hostages in the rain. Who's gonna protect us if the PNP catch cold? Inadequacy of training is not the must-have reason for not doing the mission so well. It's the discipline and mental alertness we imbibe in ourselves. Main point here is, one of the easiest thing you could say to what happened is to say that they could have done a better job, but really, THIS CAN'T BE TRUE. If it were, you'd be a cop.
So yeah, check this out: http://www.sb.gov.hk/eng/ota/index.htm. What about a label of 'serious threat' for my beloved Philippines? *facepalm*
I mean, it's serious. It's a shame. You don't have to be ashamed because Rolando Mendoza is a Filipino like you. And you don't have to feel that way. Instead, we have to prove to others that this country is not the WORST place to go to. We can't let this bring us down.
And it's pretty absurd making these fan pages of Rolando Mendoza over the FB. IT REALLY CAN'T HELP, guys. If you go gaga over these social networking sites, so be it. Never let your addictions to this be the outlet of this serious matter. And, he can't read all your comments right now. Will you please just leave the judgment to God? And just pray for the souls of the victims?
Another observation, Jim Paredes is right when he said, people's safety supersedes media's claim that 'the people have a right to know'. Media was disturbing that it caused to be a triggering factor. And civilians, we all know that Filipinos are plainly USISEROS. Tsismoso by nature, without thinking much of their own safety.
I can't get off my mind that sometimes information gathered is way better than taking your own safety precautions. What's worst is that, the easiest thing to do about a hostage crisis is to be a spectator and point fingers. Tsk tsk.
