Most of the time during weekdays (yes, work days--SHIT), I have this feeling that my studies are in my second priority now. Work comes first and I fuckin' hate almost all of it, thanks to my lovely kiddos for being my ONLY motivating factor why I still come to school and teach. I've been ranting a lot for these past few weeks now and I have to stop, to think about other things.
I don't want my studies to suffer but only this morning (yes, I should be retarded if I don't go to my graduate studies which is only once a week) I realized that OTHER PROBLEMS are still weighing around us. My idle complains were just a speck of dust compared to these existing-for- years-troubles that only 20% of Philippines' population were showing their concern (or these are just the holy numbers that think about the poor situation).
ONE YEAR GONE BUT WHERE ART THOU? I cannot even feel your presence in holding your position, to where you are now. Last May 2010, I got this first chance to perform my most important RIGHT to contribute to our community BUT what happened. Majority isn't always right. Sometimes, majority goes only with the fad, to what is popular. Persuasion and wrong use of the definition of democracy stains the current situation. Then after a year, you got a face to show in the public, while blabbering with new empty promises?
Sometimes, I'm thinking, maybe someone would educate these officials to what is essential. The things that are basic. The things that are badly needed, not those necessities, there's a big difference between needs and necessities. Why make a fuss over RH Bill if population isn't the biggest problem? I don't even know that proper analysis and common sense aren't on their vocabulary just to understand a problem.
I strongly believe that Education should be budgeted right and Corruption should be eliminated. Education is really basic. If you educate people, they know what to do. They know the right things. Educating just doesn't mean imparting knowledge but it also means making that student bright and morally upright. It means if they're educated, they hold their values, they have conscience and fuck, there's no corruption. The two problems that I mentioned goes along together. It's a domino effect. And it's a common sense. Man, why waste time discussing a soon-to-be bill.
This may serve as an excuse for me, for us teachers, to say, MAKE A RAISE in OUR SALARIES. How would you increase the labor force if the offer is not good. Check your curricula by only teaching the MUST-KNOWS for students. And those NICE/GOOD-TO-KNOWS? Leave it to the student's curiosity and discovery.
So do your part. If you don't want your people seeing the greener side of the grass.
